Orientalísimo Weekend 2026
Since we held the first edition of Orientalísimo Weekend at our dance school in Barcelona in 2017, we never imagined that such a special gathering would become an international festival. Year after year, we have felt the passion, warmth, and support with which the oriental dance community embraces this event, and that energy has always encouraged us to keep evolving.
In 2026, Orientalísimo Weekend returns to the charming city of Tarragona, reaffirming a decision that gave us an unforgettable experience last year. We return with more excitement than ever, full of energy, learning, and many surprises.

A stage we choose to experience again
Orientalísimo Weekend's arrival in Tarragona was not accidental. In previous editions, after an intense search in Barcelona and several difficulties, from rooms without suitable ceilings to major changes in hotel prices, we discovered in Tarragona a place that truly matched our dream.
The first edition held there exceeded all our expectations. The H10 Imperial Tarraco, facing the sea and surrounded by historic remains, offered a vibrant, bright setting full of good energy. Above all, the response from participants, artists, and the audience confirmed that we had found a new home for the festival.
What began in Barcelona as a small event, with a few workshops and one intimate show, has become an essential meeting point for professionals, enthusiasts, and anyone curious about oriental dance.
The evolution of a shared dream
The festival as we know it today grew thanks to the popularity of our Instagram account, @orientalisimo, where we share the transformative power of dance every day. What started as a gathering of enthusiasts became a space that brings together competitions, galas, workshops, a bazaar, and a community that supports and inspires talent.
Competition and categories
This year we once again present a very special proposal with Yassir Jamal for those who love rhythm and fusion:
- Drum Solo Improvisation: a unique opportunity to feel the force of live darbuka and let the body create magic with every beat.
- Yassir Jamal Category: show your Raks Sharki skills using any Yassir Jamal track. If you reach the final round, you will experience the challenge of a live drum solo improvisation with Yassir himself.
More and more international festivals are joining with prizes and experiences for the winners in different categories. More than a contest, this will be an intimate experience with music and a true challenge for those who want to raise their artistic level.
Tarragona: light and energy by the sea
For those who do not yet know Tarragona, or want to enjoy it again, this coastal city in southern Catalonia offers Roman ruins, medieval corners, Mediterranean gastronomy, and beaches that make every dance weekend feel brighter.
A unique opportunity to grow and connect
Orientalísimo Weekend is not only a showcase of talent. It is also a space where friendships and professional connections are born, where dancers meet international references, refine technique, nourish creativity, and feel part of a global yet close community.
